Contest University UK at RSGB Convention 2011. Sponsored by Icom UK!

Icom UK will again be sponsoring Contest University UK (CTU) at this year's RSGB Convention. To be held at Horwood House near Milton Keynes, between Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th October 2011, Contest University UK (CTU) is free for all convention delegates and is the place where you will learn all the skills and secrets needed to start your journey in becoming a contester.

Contest University UK is now in its 4th year and is based on the highly successful international format which has seen many Radio Amateurs throughout the world learn about this exciting facet of Amateur Radio from experienced practitioners. The topics of Contest University will be:

Saturday
• Ionospheric Sounders – what they are and how to use them for Contesting. By Steve Nichols G0KYA
• Antenna modeling for Contesting. By Steve Knowles G3UFY
• SkookumLogger: Improving your Contest Skills using Mac OSX. By Jonathan Mitchener, G0DVJ
• CONTEST EXCHANGE - this is where there will be a mixture of 'hosts' and 'guests'.
• The RSGB Commonwealth Contest. By Nigel Cawthorne, G3TXF
• CTU Walk in Q&A, Lee Volente, G0MTN & Mark Haynes, M0DXR

Sunday
• How Your Logs get Adjudicated. By Ian Dawson, G0FCT
• Contest Ethics & Rules. By Roger Western, G3SXW
• CTU Walk in Q&A, Lee Volente, G0MTN & Mark Haynes, M0DXR
• Single Operator Contesting at VHF. By Roger Dixon, G4BVY
