All Change at Icom (UK) Ltd

Icom (UK) Ltd has recently made a new addition to its Sales Department. John Turner (G0KFO) joins the department as Amateur Product Specialist taking over from Mark Jarvis who sadly left Icom (UK) Ltd recently.

John Turner will succeed Mark in the position of Amateur Product Specialist. He comes to the position with a broad range of experience and a keen interest in the hobby. His duties will include liasing with dealers and customers, attending exhibitions etc.

John is no stranger to Icom, for the past 2 years he has worked in our stores department. Prior to this he worked in the merchant navy and for a number of year as a workshop foreman.

John is a keen Radio Amateur having passed his RAE in 1984 and links this with a keen interest in computing. On his appointment, John said, ‘ever since there was a shop in Sea Street, I have always wanted to work for Icom… it is my dream job!’

Bob Stockley, Sales & Marketing Director said ‘We are very pleased to welcome John. I am confident that he will make an important contribution to the future of the amateur department.’

As many of you will know, Mark Jarvis left Icom (UK) Ltd on the 3rd August 2001 to begin training as an Assistant Train Manager with a company called GB Railfreight. Everyone at Icom (UK) Ltd wishes Mark every success in his new career.
