RMS-Net (Digital Radio Management System), now available with Voice recording and IP Remote Dispatch capability!

Icom UK are pleased to announce the latest version of its successful digital radio management system, RMS-Net (Version 4). RMS-Net underpins many Icom digital/analogue systems providing efficient communication within the workforce and improved management of health and safety throughout the organisation. The new release is now even more flexible providing Voice Recording as well as the ability to remotely control your radio system.

RMS-Net radio management system integrates desktop PC's, Icom handportables, base stations and talk-through repeaters into a comprehensive yet easy to use management system. A central computer logs all radio traffic onto a central database whilst desktop users stay in touch via their own computer. RMS-Net incorporates IDAS digital technology (as well as analogue or a combination of analogue/ digital). Based on your requirements RMS-Net offers many essential safety features such as Mandown alerts, Loneworker functions, panic buttons...and now Voice Recording and IP Remote Dispatch Capability.

Voice Recording
The ability to have at hand a record of an incident is important and can provide a useful training aid. Providing searchable records for health and safety is a very important issue for many organisations and businesses, should an incident ever go to court or tribunal. With RMS-Net new voice recording function, you can now record audio for a preset amount of days on a PC (normally 30 or 60 days). If voice is recorded in conjunction with an IDAS, 5 Tone or a BISS 1200 system it will log the ID of the person who is talking. This can then be extracted onto a WAV file, providing a full conversation log. This voice recording capability can also be tied in with the standard reporting functions of RMS-Net which gives you the data log of who is talking, status messages, log on/log off, emergencies, internal positioning etc.

IP Remote Dispatch Capability
IP remote dispatch capability allows you to remotely control your radio system from eleswhere using the internet. This essentially means that the PC does not have to be within the radio coverage of the system. In the past, most RF dispatching systems needed to be localised, but now with this new IP remote dispatch capability, it doesn’t. If you have an IP network or local LAN network, you can put the radio in the optimum position and control it remotely from elsewhere in the building, in a different city or even in a different country. It can also be controlled via multiple PCs used by multiple operators.

Ian Lockyer, Marketing Manager of Icom UK Ltd said, ’RMS-Net is already a successful platform for many radio users and now with these two new features provides even more flexibility for both customer and installer. This new version of RMS-Net is fully interactive, ensuring dispatchers/supervisors are able to monitor, respond and gain insight into your organisations activity, an important requirement for today’s business’.

RMS-Net can also integrate with other Icom analogue security systems such as Icom’s i-LOC Security Management System or i-READ Guard Tour Management System.
