Battery life...Calculations!

Icom has made calculations for the battery life in the worst case situation such as when the battery current is 3µA.

Therefore, the battery life is :

Battery life = 180 mAh ÷c_8c__ 3µA = 6000 hours (=2500 days) = approx. 6 years

Actually, typical current value is less than 0.5µA when the battery is connected to the Logic circuit in the Icom transceiver under normal conditions.

Battery life = 180 mAh ÷c_8c__ 0.5µ A = 360000 hours (=15000 days) = approx. 41 years

When the transceiver is turned ON, the lithium battery is deactivated. Therefore, the more you operate your Radio, the longer the life of the lithium battery will be.

(This theory will not apply to the Radios which have Clock function)
