How does the audio quality in IDAS digital mode compare with analogue FM?
The digital signal audio quality remains the same throughout the range, with no deterioration at the extremes of the communication range. The biggest difference you will notice is the lack of noise in the received audio of the digital signal. In most instances, the greater the distance between stations in analogue mode, the noisier the signal gets. In digital, it sounds the same until the signal cuts off at the end of the communications range.
