Icom Bro’s raising 'mo' money for prostate cancer research

Three members of staff from Icom UK will be raising money and awareness for men's health this Movember....we meant November.

Darrell Bosley (Commercial Product Specialist), Virgil Parker (Marine & Avionic Product Specialist) and Ian Lockyer (Marketing Manager) are taking part in Movember, an event dedicated to growing moustaches and raising awareness and money for specifically prostate and testicular cancer.

So what is Movember all about? It's trying to raise awareness for issues like this?

- 1 in 9 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
- This year 37,000 new cases of the disease will be diagnosed.
- 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
- 26% of men are less likely to go the doctor compared to women.

Ian Lockyer, Marketing Manager of Icom UK Ltd said,’ we are all going for different styles of moustaches. I am going for the ‘Tom Selleck’ look, Darrell for the ‘Mexican Desperado/Walrus’ look and Virgil for the ‘Wyatt Earp’ look. Trouble is not much is growing on our faces at the moment, which is a bit embarrassing.’

To find out their progress, stay tuned to Icom's social media pages. If you'd like to find out more about the type of work you'd be helping to fund by supporting Movember, take a look at the 'About Us section' on the Movember website:http://uk.movember.com/about
