Icom Marathon Runner Raises £600 for the Kent Association For The Blind!

Ian Lockyer, Marketing Manager of Icom UK Ltd has raised £600 for the Kent Association for the Blind after completing the recent Brighton Marathon. Ian completed the marathon in just over 5 hours 30 minutes.

Ian said, ‘I am really grateful for the support from those who sponsored me and those who supported me over the last three months. The race was extremely hard because it was really hot for the time of year.

He added, ‘Despite the hot conditions, I loved the race and the atmosphere generated by the crowds. If it had been cooler, I expect myself like everyone would have been on target for a good time and the bonus is that I have raised about £600 for the Kent Association for the Blind.’

The Kent Association for the Blind supports sight impaired people to live independent lives. The charity is a major provider of help and support for blind and partially-sighted people throughout Kent, with over 15,000 people using their services. They work with adults, children, people with learning disabilities, people who are deafblind or have other multiple disabilities.
