New Case Study: Importance of Marine VHF Radio for Lifeboat Operations

Like all lifeboat stations, marine VHF radios are an important part of the rescue equipment for Southport Lifeboat, who provide a search and rescue service along the Merseyside and West Lancashire coastline. Manned entirely by volunteers, Southport Lifeboat attends a wide variety of call outs from boating incidents, such as a tow in or a capsize, to beach related incidents including medical evacuations, beach searches for missing people and mud rescues.

The Lifeboat uses a variety of marine VHF radios including ICOM base units and handhelds…they even have fixed VHF radios on each of their quad bikes.
