Comptons supply aviation charity with Icom Radios
Icom UK dealer, Comptons has recently supplied the world famous aviation charity “Shuttleworth Collection” with twelve handheld transceivers and a repeater for their ground services teams. The Shuttleworth Collection situated Nr Biggleswade is a unique collection of the first 100 years of flight. Shuttleworth is famous for regular flying displays. Rob Compton of Comptons demonstrated equipment to John Demain, Shuttleworth Collection’s Air Traffic Controller who decided to purchase an IC-FR4100 UHF Repeater and the IC-F25 UHF handheld transceivers for the ground service teams to use during these air displays. The ground service teams include Shuttlesworth’s fire service and other public safety teams, all of which are on standby during air displays. If an emergency does occur the radios would be used to coordinate the teams accordingly. John Demain said “Icom was the obvious choice, I’ve previously used Icom aviation radios and have always been very satisfied with their quality and reliability”. He went on to say “The service we received from Comptons was exceptional. On behalf of everyone at Shuttleworth I’d like to say thank you to both Comptons and Icom.” More detail about the Shuttleworth Collection is available from their website: www.shuttleworth.org For more information about Comptons please visit http://www.ot2.co.uk/ or call Rob Compton on 01767 262444 Icom UK Marketing - marketing@icomuk.co.uk26/04/2007
