GM800 GMDSS MF/HF Transceiver Debuts at Skipper Expo Int. Aberdeen 2018
Icom will be exhibiting its latest range of commercial marine solutions on stand 86B at Skipper Expo Int. Aberdeen 2018 which takes place at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre on the 25th and 26th May. Icom will be showing for the first time the GM800, a Class A MF/HF radio as required for Commercial SOLAS regulated vessels. The GM800 is highly suitable for commercial vessels that require reliable performance for longer distance MF/HF communications.
The GM800 now completes a full VHF and MF/HF solution that meets ITU Class A DSC requirements and European MED 96/98/EC “Wheel Mark” approval for European merchant ships. The GM800 GMDSS MF/HF marine transceiver together with Icom's GM600 VHF/DSC radio provides a full GMDSS bridge radio line-up for the commercial maritime market place. Both transceivers provide loud, clear audio and a large 4.3-inch colour LCD display for clear visibility with a night mode feature for low light conditions.
To complete Icom’s GMDSS range, the IC-GM1600E Marine VHF handheld survival craft radio meets “Wheel mark”, MED certification. The IC-GM1600E meets temperature, thermal shock, vibration and drop resistance (from 1m height) requirements and meets international standards for life rafts and their emergency equipment.
