20% Rebate on 8.33 kHz capable Airband Radios

20% Rebate on 8.33 kHz capable Airband Radios

With the up and coming deadline for next year’s changeover to 8.33 kHz spacing throughout Europe, the CAA has secured 4.3 million Euro of funding from the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) to encourage the early transition of the UK GA fleet to 8.33 kHz capable equipment. The funding will be distributed by way of a 20% reimbursement to aircraft owners or pilots on a first come first served basis to contribute towards the cost of new radio equipment.

What this means is that a rebate can be applied towards the cost of purchase and installation of the following Icom 8.33 kHz airband/aviation radios.

IC-A220T 8.33kHz Airband Panel Mount Transceiver
IC-A6E 8.33kHz Portable VHF COM Transceiver
IC-A24E 8.33kHz Portable VHF VOR/COM Transceiver

More information about how this scheme will be administered and how to make an application can be found on the CAA website at
