What are 3G and 4G?

You may have noticed that we talk about 3G and 4G when we are talking about our LTE radio system. So here is a concise explanation of what they are:

3G stands for third generation mobile technology. The standard allows for higher rates of data to be sent via the GSM cellular network, finding itself useful with the emergence of smartphones & tablets.

Although 3G is still commonly in use, it has now been superseded by 4G stands for fourth-generation mobile technology. 4G allows for even higher download/upload speeds for data and provides more reliable bandwidth for applications such as video and streaming video on mobile devices.
