What are MIL-spec (MIL-STD) ratings on a two way radio?

MIL-spec (MIL-STD) ratings are the test standards set by the U.S Military. Mil-spec radios have a rugged design to provide reliable performance, even in the most demanding environments. Many Icom PMR two way radios have passed these demanding MIL-STD tests, better known as 810 C/D/E & F.
