When and where was ICOM established?
Icom was established in 1954 by Tokuzo Inoue. Originally the company was called "Inoue" and developed into one of the world's biggest manufacturers of two-way radio equipment.
Icom designs and manufactures radio solutions from its factories in the Wakayama region of Japan for the commercial, maritime, avionics and Amateur radio markets. Icom's product range constantly evolves, incorporating new technologies such as our new LTE product range and partnerships with Iridium to produce the first Satellite PTT radio.
Icom's headquarters are in Osaka, Japan, with distributors worldwide.
