IOT Security Compliance
Internet Connected Devices, Our Commitment to You
The United Kingdom government has introduced a requirement for all "Connected Devices" to be tested to the "Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure (Security Requirements for Relevant Connectable Products) Regulations (PSTIA) 2023". These new regulations will come into effect on 29 April 2024. Businesses involved in the supply of relevant products that can connect to the web will need to be compliant with this legislative framework. This regulation places responsibility on Manufacturers, Importers, Distributors and Retailers to ensure the products they sell in the United Kingdom comply with the rules. A "Connected Device" is any equipment that connects to the Internet or a network. The full specification and guidance notes can be found here. As part of that requirement, we will provide our customers with information relating to the product on the respective product pages on our website (next to our leaflet and brochure download). Please note that the security update period may be extended beyond 5 years from first production.ICOM Products Affected by the UK Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Regulations: | ||
