Can I operate my IC-A6E or IC-A24 VHF Airband radio from the 12 volts in my aircraft?

Yes, however, you must use the CP-20 cigarette lighter adapter, you can then safely operate (both transmit and receive) your radio from the 12 volt system in your aircraft. Also, you can use the CP-20 with a 24 volt system in case you are using a rental aircraft with only a 24 volt system. The radio will not operate from any other power source.
