Can you turn off some of the features on the IC-M94DE to prolong battery life?

You can turn off alarms that may trigger, but this will make very little difference. For the set to function correctly in an emergency, the GPS must be running, so this cannot be switched off. The best way to prolong battery life is to reduce the output power to 1W when near anyone you may need to speak to and avoid using the scan function.
