I am looking for a battery replacement for the Icom BP-224, BP-225 & BP-241 batteries?

Due to a ban on the importation of Ni-cad batteries into the EU, the BP-224 and BP-225 Ni-cad batteries are now unavailable. These batteries can be replaced by the BP-252 Li-Ion battery pack.

If you upgrading from one of these Ni-cad batteries to a BP-252 Li-Ion battery, you may need a new charger such as the BC-162 or BC-173. This is because the older BC-150 Ni-cad charger will not work with Li-Ion batteries.

Should you need to replace the now discontinued BP-241 Li-Ion battery, the BP-252 can be used in its place. The BP-241 and BP-252 are both Li-Ion batteries and will both suit the same chargers. A new charger is not required for this substitution.

If you have an IC-M31 Marine VHF radio, an upgrade kit is available under product code M31.201. This consists of a BP-252 and BC-173 charger.
