ICOM LAUNCHES DECEPTIVELY SIMPLE TWO WAY RADIO TRANSCEIVER RANGE
Icom UK has announced a new family of radio products aimed squarely at the commercial market, which despite the simplest user interface, are packed with all the latest features and functionality, and offer unbeatable price performance. The range, which includes both handhelds and fixed radios, has been designed to appeal to a wide audience. Six models make up this new family of products starting with the IC-F3S and IC-F4S which are VHF and UHF handheld transceivers respectively. These two models feature CTCSS and DTCS encode/decode to operate the radios. Both 2-tone decode and 5-tone encode/decode options can be taken to meet a wide variety of signalling requirements in conventional mode. Simplicity is the key behind the design of the new range. A minimum of switches and buttons are included on the F3S and F4S and neat LCD panels enable users to see the radio’s operating condition. On the next two models in the range, the IC-F3 (VHF) and IC-F4 (UHF), Icom have incorporated larger key pads without detracting from the uncluttered design. Also in the range are two fixed radios, the IC-F310 and IC-F410, both of which provide the same straightforward and flexible operations and powerful functionality. The range offers a dealer-programmable assign function. This means that five keys can be assigned special functions, providing customised operation to suit the users individual needs. And on top of all this, Icom have included a rugged die-cast chassis and polycarbonate casing, advanced PC programming capabilities, a password function and a light to illuminate the LCD panel, so that the radio can also be used in the dark. For the hand-helds, a long life battery pack (700 mAh) is supplied as standard. The new radios range in price from £249 ex. VAT for the F4S and F3S, £275 for the F310 and F410 and £279 ex.
