Icom Antenna Troubleshooting Guide for Two Way Radios

Two way radios can malfunction if an antenna is loose or if the wrong type is fitted. If this happens, you can try the following and hopefully it will get your radios working properly again.

• Remove the antenna by turning in a counter clockwise direction.
• Check to see if you have the right antenna type for your radio. The antenna will have either a pin or flat connector. Look at the connector base on the radio and make sure it is the correct shape to fit the connector.
• Look at the antenna and see whether it is marked for UHF or VHF. Check the model number on the radio label and make sure you have the appropriate type of antenna for that frequency band.
• If you appear to have the correct type of antenna, put it back by turning it in a clockwise direction and turn the radio back on.

If you are still having problems with your radio after following these steps then give us a call on 01227 741741 to speak to someone in our technical department or email info@icomuk.co.uk.
