Icom Motorsport Support
This year Icom UK is providing communication solutions to a number of motor sport teams. We are continuing our support of the ISILON MSS Discovery Kawasaki Superbikes team, local motorsport team Rapid Chariots and youngster Ben Morphett British Trial Bike Champion. A new sponsorship deal sees Icom supporting Team Air Ambulance at the V8 Trophy Race Series. ISILON MSS Discovery has seen strong performances this season in both the British Superbikes and Supersports divisions. In the Superbike division Michael Rutter is currently in 10th place and his team mate Stuart Easton is in 7th place in the Supersport division. Michael Rutter achieved a personal best lap time with a 125.003mph lap around the Isle of Man TT track aboard his Ninja ZX-10R earlier this month. Canterbury based motorsport team Rapid Chariots saw their Lotus Exige have an extensive rebuild over the winter months. The car is now performing strongly and achieving good results. Bob Stockley, Icom Sales and Marketing Director is once again one of the team’s drivers. In the Youth Trials Bike Division Herne Bay youngster Ben Morphett is aiming to retain his British Champion title, he is currently in 5th position in the championship. Due to his strong performance the Auto-Cycle Union has let him move up a class two years early. Icom Dealer Rob Compton took to the track in Team Air Ambulance’s V8 Pontiac at the V8 Stock Car first round in April. Attaining a respectable 9th place overall during the weekend he and the team are looking forward to the next race at the end of June. Bob Stockley, Icom Sales and Marketing Director said “Icom has a strong relationship with the motorsport community across the UK and I am thrilled that we are supporting so many great UK talents”.
