Icom ID-5200E Mobile Transceiver Wins 2026 Good Design Award

Administered by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, the Good Design Award is presented annually to innovative, high-quality products that drive positive industry standards worldwide.

This year, the ID-5200E VHF/UHF Dual Band D-STAR Digital Transceiver has received the award. Recognised for its design merit, the jury specifically highlighted three key reasons for choosing it:

Intuitive dual operation: Equipped with independent dials for left and right, enabling intuitive operation when receiving two signals simultaneously.

Modern car integration: A modern design centred on a colour touchscreen, blending seamlessly with car interiors.

Adaptable installation: A separate main unit and controller with a variety of mounting options for flexible installation.

The ID-5200E will be displayed at the 2026 Good Design Exhibition, which is open to the public at Tokyo Midtown from 31st October – 4th November.
