Icom LTE & Marine Radios Contribute to a Successful RS Venture Connect World Championship

A huge amount of work goes into running a large sailing event and having efficient communication with multiple teams is critical for safety. During the recent 2024 RS Venture Connect World Championship, held between 30th September and 3rd October at Rutland Sailing Club, the RS Venture Connect Class had the opportunity to use Icom’s marine and LTE radio solutions to aid the running of the event both on and off the water.

In a fleet of RS Venture Connect charter boats provided by RS Sailing, 32 teams from 15 different countries battled the elements, racing for top honours in their respective categories.

Enabling the volunteers at sea to communicate during the event was our IC-M73 marine VHF, whilst for land-based communication the organisers team used our IP503 full duplex LTE terminals to keep things running smoothly. Both models are fully waterproof and exceptionally rugged, they are ideal for use in extreme weather conditions and hostile environments, making them an ideal choice for the RS Venture Connect World Championship round.
