My Float and Flash Icom radio is flashing. Are my contacts wet?

If your radio flashes a red light, it is indicating that the radio is wet and the rear moisture sensing contacts need to be dried. It is normal for it to continue to flash for a period of a minute or two after being taken out of the water.

Should the radio continually flash even though it is not submerged and the contacts have been dry for several minutes you can try removing the battery pack (do this in a safe dry environment), then leave the battery out for at least 5 minutes. After 5 minutes has passed, pop it back and this should reset the sensors.

If this fails, the likelihood is that there is something else wrong internally and you should give our Service department a call for advice on 01227 741741.
