New IC-F15 Series: Perfect for Business, Big or Small

Icom UK are pleased to introduce a new series of low cost, entry level transceivers. The IC-F15 two way radio series offers a new lightweight, easy to handle, high-performance portable radio that’s built for large and small businesses. The IC-F15 series has only 3 buttons and 2 knobs, so no special training is required. It also has a very durable construction, which is resistant to shock and vibration. Add wide frequency coverage; Li-Ion battery pack and rapid charger as standard; built-in signalling; option unit connector and you have a radio series that is ideal for users who are searching for a simple yet dependable communication solution.

Four transceivers make up this new series. The series is divided into the IC-F15 (16 channel) and IC-F15S (2 channel) for VHF and the IC-F25 (16 channel) and IC-F25(S) (2 channel) for UHF. The 16 channel models can be selected by a simple rotary knob whilst the 2 channel option can be selected by a simple toggle switch on top of the radio.

Simplicity is the key behind the design of these transceivers. There are only three controls; transmit button, volume control and channel selector. This simple interface makes it ideal for high turnover environments and shift work where the radio is constantly passed from person to person.

The Icom IC-F15 two way radio series is built around a heavy-duty aluminium die-cast chassis with a tough polycarbonate casing to make it incredibly rugged. The dual slide rail securely locks the battery to the radio.

The IC-F15 series has an expansion socket for adding optional boards not seen in a radio of this class before. Voice scrambler, man down and DTMF decoder features are available, depending on the installed board. Although simplicity is the watchword for this radio, expansion into larger systems is provided for as the series supports multiple signalling and flexible selective calling. You can use the built-in 2-Tone, 5-Tone, CTCSS and DTCS capabilities as standard to set-up your own talk groups and quiet stand-by when others are talking.

The IC-F15 series comes with the BP-231 Li-Ion battery pack and rapid charger as standard. Li-Ion batteries have virtually no memory issues and allow you flexible charging. In addition, the optional BP-232 provides a high capacity 2000mAh for longer operating time. To give added confidence each model has a 2-year warranty.
