Icom donate Marine VHF Radio to Whitstable Harbour Master
Herne Bay based radio communication company, Icom (UK) Ltd has recently donated an IC-M401 marine VHF fixed radio to the Whitstable Harbour Master. The new radio will be used as the primary means of communication between the Harbour Mater and vessels entering and leaving the Whitstable harbour area. It will also be used for contacting the Canterbury City Council Foreshore Services Patrol Boat. Phil Hadler Icom Managing Director said, 'Icom UK actively support a number of national and local charities and organisations. We are very happy to donate this radio to the Whitstable Harbour Master. I am especially happy since Whitstable is my hometown'. When asked about the donation Mike Weir, Whitstable Harbour Master said, 'We’ve been using Icom equipment in and around the harbour for the last 15 years and have always been extremely satisfied with performance, durability and reliability of the equipment. He added, “The new radio will help us to safely manage harbour traffic and the Foreshore Safety Boat which we are responsible for. We are very grateful to Icom for this kind donation'.
