Firmware Upgrade Available for the IC-M94DE Marine VHF/DSC Radio

We are making customers aware of a firmware upgrade for those who have recently purchased our IC-M94DE marine VHF/DSC radio. The firmware upgrade will improve battery efficiency within the radio, therefore improving its overall performance. We recommend you have this upgrade done.

The firmware reflash will need to be done at an Icom service dealer or here at Icom UK. We advise customers who have purchased an IC-M94DE with one of the following serial numbers to either return their radio to their local Icom Marine service dealer or contact us for collection by contacting us on the telephone number or email address at the bottom of this page. If you are unsure, please call us so we can confirm if you are affected.

This firmware update should be done if your radio was bought after June 2021 and has a serial number between 16001201 and 16001897. Earlier or later radios are not affected by this firmware upgrade.

Alternatively, if your IC-M94DE has a firmware revision of 1.003 or higher (displayed on the radios start-up screen each time you switch the set on), then the update has already been done and you do not need to do anything.

The unit should be returned to you within the week. There will be no charge for this update. This free firmware upgrade is for ICOM UK customers with radios sold by ICOM UK authorised resellers only.
