kSail Support University Regattas with their Marine VHF Radio Rental Solution
kSail, based in Stockbridge, Hampshire, is an organisation that offers support to sailing events throughout the UK and worldwide. Providing event management, equipment, maintenance and technical support, they have recently introduced a rental pack service using ICOM’s market leading IC-M37E VHF handheld radios, supplied in a rugged custom built charging case allowing them to be easily used in sailing regattas and other watersport competitions. The radio solution which incorporates ICOM’s IC-M37E handheld VHF radios which comes with a power supply housed in a rugged waterproof case were recently used over three days of competition at the Grafham Water Sailing Club. The knockout final between Cambridge Blue and Exeter Blue saw the Cambridge team crowned British University Team Racing Champions 2024. The radios provided extra VHF coverage to the events race management, its umpires and safety team. The annual event, organised by the British Universities Sailing Association, in partnership with Cambridge University Cruising Club was the culmination of a series of regional qualification events which together have seen eighty teams compete over eight weekends of competition throughout the country. Paul Robson of kSail said, ‘Icom is a top brand and having the radios in a rugged case means that they can stored, charged and easily managed at sailing events. Our rental packs are a fabulous compact solution that is easily deployable at any sailing event allowing the organisers to increase their VHF fleet and safety coverage at a reasonable cost.
