Icom Afloat with Anglers

Icom is supporting AnglersAfloat in their quest to bring the up and coming sport of kayak fishing to the UK. Already hugely popular in the US this sport is gathering fans across the UK and the rest of Europe.

David Morris, founder of AnglersAfloat, first fished from a kayak in August 2003. He enjoyed it so much he launched the internet based kayak fishing resource for Europe. With help from the kayak and marine industry, David has been able to produce the popular Kayak Projects and various how-to-guides. A major concern at AnglersAfloat is promoting personal safety, which is why they strongly recommend kayakers always wear a PFD (Personal Flotation Device) with a waterproof VHF handheld radio.

David said, “our equipment is tested to the extreme, being so close to the water. That is why we suggest that kayaking fisherman should get a VHF that can cope with these conditions. We recommend Icom’s IC-M33 to our visitors on AnglersAfloat as it floats should you happen to drop it overboard!
