Preparing for the National Herne Bay Bass Festival 2009

Preparations for the 2009 National Bass Festival hosted by the Herne Bay Angling Association Herne Bay are well underway. The 3-day competition, sponsored by Icom UK begins on Friday the 10th of July. The HBAA is hoping this years attendance figures will top last years of over 100 anglers.

John French, Secretary of the Herne Bay Angling Association said , "With over 100 anglers scouring the ocean and beaches for the elusive "biggie" who knows what will turn up! It’s possible that a large bass will be caught again, Matt Sargent managed it last year with his winning bass of 13.44lbs."

Ian Lockyer, Marketing Manager commented, “The Herne Bay Bass Festival is a great summer event especially with the glorious weather, the strong competiton and high number of competitors. It was great to have an even closer association with this event last year with Laura Beavis from our Marketing department taking part. It was a shame that she didn't catch anything, but she’s got her fingers crossed for this year!”
