Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and Icom Two Way Radio Equipment

A new standard replacing the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment (RTTE) Directive comes into place from the 12th June 2016 called the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU. Although the compliance date suggests 12th June, all manufacturers have been given a 12 month period to adjust their compliance and certification to meet the new RED standard. Icom’s current and new products will comply by the cut off date of 13 June 2017.
