Success for Worthing & District Amateur Radio Club at SSB Field Day 2013

The Worthing and District Amateur Radio Club are delighted to announce that the club came first in the Restricted Section of the IARU Region 1 SSB Field Day in 2013 using Icom radio equipment including the IC-756ProIII and an Icom AH-4 auto tuner. The club had already used this equipment over the previous two years being satisfied with the performance – particularly the variable selectivity facility on receive of the ProIII, which was invaluable on the crowded end of 80m on the Saturday evening of the contest.

Graham Bubloz G4FNL said, ‘We also had absolutely no hesitation in selecting this equipment because of the known reliability in a harsh field day environment and for the ability of several new licencees to be able to quickly and intuitively grasp the operation of this sophisticated radio.’
