What does " 5 : 5 : 90 " Mean on a Battery Rating?

This is an industry standard that Icom uses that is called a 5, 5, 90 Duty cycle. This means that a new, fully charged battery will generally last XX hours if:

• You transmit 5% of the time
• Your speaker is active (you are receiving) 5% of the time
• Your radio sits idle (no TX or RX) 90% of the time
