What does Icom’s ‘Active Noise Cancelling’ function do on a two way radio?

Icom’s ‘Active Noise Cancelling’ function, already used on Icom marine VHF radios essentially suppresses background noise. The suppression level of the ‘Active Noise Cancelling’ function can be set to one of three levels. Up to 30%* of noise for transmit audio, and up to 90%* of noise for receive audio can be suppressed.

By using this function, you can transmit clear voice even in a noisy environment, such as in a factory, or near a high traffic main road.

For more details and for links to videos demonstrating this technology, on our marine radios visit, 'Experience the Advantage of Icom’s Active Noise Cancelling Technology on its latest VHF/DSC range' .
