IC-7300<..."/>

Why has the clock on my IC-7300 run down?

The IC-7300 features a tiny backup battery whose only function is just to keep the clock running for a few days while the set is disconnected from a PSU. This rechargeable battery performs NO other function.

The clock function of the IC-7300 is just an additional feature that is there for convenience and is not at all critical in the function of the radio.

The tiny battery is trickle charged at a very low rate through a series resistor whenever a DC power source is connected to the radio and turned on (even if the 7300 is turned off).
