You should first check that the equipment you have purchased is from an authorised Icom Marine Dealer. This will ensure you are getting a genuine product that will carry the full UK marina channels. Sets purchased from overseas, intended for other markets, will likely not have the full UK channel set.
Additionally, ensure the radio you purchase conforms to the required approval standards and bears the UKCA/CE marks. The UKCA marking is intended to provide clarity and certainty to consumers about the safety and quality of products sold in the UK. It demonstrates that the product meets the relevant UK regulatory requirements and that the manufacturer or importer has taken responsibility for compliance.
