Is there still a place for analogue two way business radio?

With the growth of digital two way radio, customers may feel that analogue two way radio has no place in the market. However, the reality is, because of the amount of communications equipment still using analogue, it is highly unlikely that it will be withdrawn in the near future. OFCOM who are responsible for licensing two-way radio in the UK have not announced any intention or plans to withdraw licensing (and/or support) for analogue two-way radio equipment.

If you are looking to the future, Icom provide an upgrade path with its IDAS range of radios which allows analogue/digital mixed mode operation allowing customers to migrate their radios systems at their own pace.
