IC-R6
IC-R6 Compact Wideband Handheld Receiver
While retaining basic features of its popular predecessor the IC-R5, the IC-R6 contains many improvements including 100 channel per second scanning speed, 1300 memory channels, 15 hours of continuous receive capability, optional drop-in charger stand and voice control squelch. All these new features combined with a high degree of usability means that the IC-R6 will be equally at home with any casual listener of broadcast stations or the serious scanning enthusiast seeking a pocket sized quality receiver.
0.100-1309.995MHz* Wideband Receiver
With a wide frequency range of 0.100-1309.995MHz in AM, FM, and WFM modes Amateur stations, AM, FM, short wave broadcasts, TV audio* and a variety of utility communications can be listened to.
* Depending on version. Analogue TV audio only. Cannot decode digital TV audio. 100 Channels Per Second High Speed Scan
The IC-R6 has a 100 channels per second high speed scan capability in VFO mode, useful when searching over 1300MHz of spectrum! • Full scan
• Band scan
• Programmed scan
• Auto memory write scan
• Memory scan
• Priority scan
• Bank scan
• Skip scan
• Tone scan
• Link scan
• 15 hours* of continuous receive capability The IC-R6 has an efficient low current consumption design for long operation. With the supplied rechargeable Ni-MH cells, the IC-R6 provides up to 15 hours of continuous receive*.
* 50mW output with external speaker (8Ù). 1300 Memory Channels, 22 Memory Banks With A 6-Character Comment
The 1300 memory channels, 50 band scan edges and 200 auto memory write channels provide more than enough capacity to locate and store interesting signals. The regular 1300 channels can be divided into 22 memory banks (Max. 100 channels per bank) for flexible grouping. Each regular channel, scan edge and memory bank can be assigned a 6-character name. 150mW Loud Audio
The IC-R6 uses a BTL (bridge-tied load) amplifier that doubles the audio output. The 36mm large speaker delivers 150mW* of loud audio for noisy environments.
* Using internal speaker. Optional BC-194 Drop-In Charger Stand
The optional BC-194 charger stand charges the Ni-MH rechargeable cells eliminating the need to connect and disconnect an AC adapter to the DC power jack of the receiver. VSC (Voice Squelch Control)
The VSC opens the squelch only when a modulated signal is detected and ignores unmodulated, beat noise signals. RETAINED FEATURES FROM IC-R5 External DC Power Jack
The IC-R6 has an external DC power jack for operation with the AC adapter, BC-07 or optional cigarette lighter cable, CP-18A/E. The standard Ni-MH batteries can be charged simultaneously during operation, making this a useful function while using the IC-R6 in your vehicle or at home. Compact, Drip-Resistant Construction
Designed for ease of use, the IC-R6 is ultra compact measuring only 58(W)x 86(H)x 29.8(D)mm and weighing just 200g enabling it to fit neatly in the palm of your hand. Built in a drip resistant case, the radio is protected from harsh weather and damp conditions. Built-In Ferrite Rod Antenna For AM
A built-in ferrite rod antenna improves reception for AM broadcast stations without the need of a whip antenna. CTCSS & DTCS tone squelch
CTCSS and DTCS tones provide quiet stand-by while waiting for a matched tone signal. This is convenient for monitoring a specified repeater or station etc. Tone scan detects a tone frequency used in a channel. The pocket beep function alerts you with a beep sound when a matched tone signal is received. PC Programming Capability
Memory contents such as frequencies, channel name, category, group name, set mode items, etc, can be programmed easily with the optional cloning software CS-R6. IC-R6 Additional Features
• Earphone cord antenna for AM aviation as well as FM broadcasts
• +/-1.0ppm high frequency stability
• Built-in audio low pass filter suppresses high pitch audio and reduces noise
• Optional CT-17, CI-V level converter for PC remote control
• Optional new tube earphone: SP-27
